Scroll down for some examples of our recent charity videos...

Obama Foundation

For this charity video comission we focused on girls education and Michelle Obama even shared it on her instagram page.

"This #FathersDay weekend, I’m celebrating dads around the world who are doing everything they can to give their children the opportunities they deserve. Eric Mlambo is the founder of the @FootprintsFoundation_SA, an organization in South Africa supported by the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance that is dedicated to adolescent girls' education and health."

- Michelle Obama

Impact Network

This video for education charity Impact Network was shown at their charity fundraising event and brought in a high level of donations for the inspiring work they do. Each year, Impact Network serves around 6,000 students across rural Zambia, and provides them with a quality education. These are some of the stories from the community members they partner with.

African Bat Conservation

The charity African Bat Conservation conducts applied research, conservation and education to bring bats to the conservation agenda and help conserve bat populations in Africa. Mostly we hear stories about human wildlife conflict, but just outside Lilongwe these bats are helping to create an excellent banana harvest.

CCPM Malawi and the Scottish Government

For this charity video we partnered with the Climate Challenge Programme Malawi, a Scottish Government initiative helping rural communities in Malawi find innovative solutions to problems caused by climate change. Working through local partner organisations, the programme started with a series of workshops in rural communities in southern Malawi, to learn about the problems they face and what would help them to improve their access to food, water and energy.

Pollination Project and Green Kenya

Pollination Project give small grants every single day to social change-makers all over the world. We visited one of their partners in Nairobi, the very inspiring David Mulo who started the sport for development organization Green Kenya. David and his team work towards creating opportunities and building resilience in young people who live in challenging environments.

Some tips on how to create impactful nonprofit videos with a charity videographer...

A charity videographer can help you bring your message to life, create engaging content, and make sure it reaches the right audience. Learn why hiring a professional videographer is one of the best ways to increase the visibility of your charitable cause and make a lasting impact.

1. Establish Clear Objectives

Before starting the creative process, it’s important to have a clear understanding of the goal you want to achieve with the video. Is your objective to raise awareness of a particular issue or communicate a certain message? Do you want to encourage people to take action and donate money or materials? Knowing what you want to accomplish will help guide your visual strategy and inform the choice of techniques that charity videographer uses.

2. Identify Your Target Audience

To create an effective and impactful video, you must first identify who your target audience is. Knowing who you are speaking to will allow the charity videographer to craft visual stories that make a powerful connection. Consider demographics such as age, gender, and location, as well as personal interests, hobbies, beliefs and values that may apply to your message. This can be done through research but also by interacting with potential viewers directly.

3. Choose Your Storytelling Angle

Once your video’s target audience is identified, the charity videographer can help you determine what type of stories will be the most impactful. Consider how to tell your story from an angle that matches the unique mission and goals of your organization. From an emotionally charged approach to a straightforward informational video, select how you want your nonprofit's story to be told. Your choice will set the tone for the rest of the production process.

4. Connect with a Professional Videographer

A nonprofit videographer has the technical knowledge and creative skills to capture your message with engaging visuals. Look for a charity videographer with a portfolio that resonates with your vision. You can also research their experience working with nonprofits and other charitable causes alike. With the right person behind the camera, you’ll be able to create meaningful videos that draw in the right kind of viewers.

5. Optimize Your Video for SEO

Once you have your nonprofit videos produced and ready to go, it’s time to make them as discoverable as possible. This means setting up the right tags and titles for each video in order for search engines to recognize the content. You can also use online tools designed specifically for improving video SEO, such as TubeBuddy and VidIQ Vision. By utilizing these methods, you can help direct those interested in your cause directly to your video with ease.

Some feedback from our clients who we have worked with to create charity videos

"Katy reached out to us a few times via email and we set up a time to talk a few years ago. We were able to create a plan for her to visit, and she worked deftly with our team to create a beautiful, thoughtful, and insightful video. We have done a few different videos over the years and this one really captured the essence of the communities we work with and our schools. The footage is the best we have seen from our schools - the colors, images, shots etc. It is amazing that Katy was able to find a compelling story to fit what we needed and we are so grateful for her expertise and time!"

Reshma Patel, Impact Network

“I enjoyed working with the duo on the video from the first day to the end. I like their professionalism and their adaptation to different situations. They have worked with us in the rain and sunshine, I actually thought Katy wouldn't be able to visit some places we work in because of the nature of the environment, but she did. Keep up the good work. On behalf of the team and our participants, we say Karibu tena, Welcome again!!”

David Mulo, Pollination Project
